We offer Spring and Fall semester productions which rehearse through the semester, usually on Sundays, with performances near the end of the semester. These camps run for 4 months with multiple performances. If this interests you please sign-up on our Camps and Classes page!

During the Summer, New Works runs 3-4 theatrical performances. Each production has 2-weeks of rehearsals with multiple performances at the end. The full 2026 season can be found on the Camps and Classes page, where sign-ups are also open.

You can register for any production by paying in full on the camps and classes page, emailing our financial Director Taylor Condron at tcondron@newworkssa.org to set up a payment plan, or applying for a scholarship.

New Works mission and goal is provide accessible theatre for youth within the San Antonio community. This includes financially accessible camps and classes for many of our students.

There are many opportunities for students to be involved besides acting! If you’re interested in costume, lighting, sound, scenic design, and/or stage managing, please contact our Artistic Director jjones@newworkssa.org

We also offer unpaid student internships for those who are interested in learning more about theater productions and non-profit administration! Please contact our Executive Direction, Wren Ramos, if you are interested (wramos@newworkssa.org).

We believe in creating as little competition as possible so we want to minimize the amount our students can prepare ahead of time. A lot of our students come from limited access to theatre so we don't expect them to prepare an audition by themselves.

We spend the entire first day of our production camps teaching bits of songs and/or scenes from the show to get an idea of where to place who in the cast. Because of the nature of a no-cut program like ours we treat it like a full day of callbacks- you're all going to be cast it's just a question of where! If you would like a way to prepare you can familiarize yourself with the show and its’ characters as much as possible- Break a leg!
